Sabres suffer blowout loss to Devils

The Buffalo Sabres went into New Jersey Saturday night looking to build off Friday’s come-from-behind win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, but that didn’t happen as they were blown out, 7-2, by the Devils at the Prudential Center.

Buffalo (9-10-2) was outshot 38-11 and trailed 4-0 after 20 minutes. Both Sabres’ goals came on the power play. Jeff Skinner netted his 10th, and Kyle Okposo sniped his second. Jiri Kulich and Isak Rosen made their NHL debuts, each playing under 15 minutes.

Eric Comrie started in goal but played just one period after giving up four goals. Devon Levi made 16 saves over the final two periods.

The Sabres will meet the Rangers on Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
