Waterloo woman faces charges after tripping child

Police say one person was taken into custody after an incident involving an adult and minor.

Brittany L. Shaffer, 29, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.

The arrest followed an investigation into an incident involving a juvenile.

According to the police report, Shaffer is alleged to have deliberately tripped a juvenile using her foot with the intent to harass, annoy, or alarm.

The specific details of the incident, including the age and relationship of the juvenile to Shaffer, were not immediately disclosed.

The charge of endangering the welfare of a child was brought against Shaffer as her actions were considered likely harmful to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of a child under 17.

Following her arrest, Shaffer was transported to the Town of Waterloo Court for arraignment. She was released on her own recognizance.
