Ithaca woman held on $10K bail after setting apartment building on fire: One injured, several displaced

The Ithaca Police Department says a local woman is in custody on $10,000 bail after being arrested in connection with an arson investigation.

Police were called to an address on Cherry St. during the early morning hours on Nov. 17. They say based on the circumstances of the incident — New York State Fire Investigators, Ithaca Police Department, Ithaca Fire Department, and other local authorities launched an arson investigation.

One person suffered non life threatening injuries due to the fire. However, several residents of the apartment building were displaced as result of it.

Police arrested 42-year-old Natasha Thomas, an Ithaca resident, charging her with one count of second-degree arson. They said the fire was ‘intentionally set’. 

She was held on $10,000 bail at the Tompkins County Jail.
