The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Walworth man, Malcolm Vanalstyne, 51, following an incident involving his vehicle parked in a dangerous location.
Vanalstyne, a resident of Waterford Road in Walworth, faces charges of Aggravated DWI, DWI, and parking on a highway.
The arrest occurred after deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the oncoming lane of traffic on Walworth Marion Rd, positioned on the downward crest of a hill.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Vanalstyne was allegedly operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody after failing standardized field sobriety tests. Further investigation at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office revealed a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.20%, following a chemical test.
This level is more than double the legal limit for driving under the influence.
Mr. Vanalstyne is scheduled to appear in Walworth Town Court to respond to these charges at a later date.
