Cornell police make felony assault, burglary arrest after home invasion

Cornell police say an arrest has been made in the case of the burglary that happened during the early morning hours on October 29.


They say a suspect surrendered to law enforcement. But, the original report indicated that two suspects had forcibly entered a residence and caused damage.

The resident of the unit at McGraw Place confronted the two suspects, and one of the suspects sprayed the victim with a dry chemical fire extinguisher that was taken from inside the residence.

The victim was treated at the scene and released.

One of the suspects charged was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree burglary. He’s also been charged with criminal possession of a weapon as a misdemeanor.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
