Cornell police say an arrest has been made in the case of the burglary that happened during the early morning hours on October 29.
They say a suspect surrendered to law enforcement. But, the original report indicated that two suspects had forcibly entered a residence and caused damage.
The resident of the unit at McGraw Place confronted the two suspects, and one of the suspects sprayed the victim with a dry chemical fire extinguisher that was taken from inside the residence.
The victim was treated at the scene and released.
The suspect charged was identified as 19-year-old Tom Botts. He’s been charged with second-degree assault and second-degree burglary. He’s also been charged with criminal possession of a weapon as a misdemeanor.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
