In a heartfelt tribute to David Baker’s years of service, the Seneca Falls Community Center gymnasium has been renamed in his honor.

The dedication ceremony, organized by the Bonafiglia Family Foundation in partnership with the Seneca Falls Parks & Recreation Department, took place on November 10.

This renaming recognizes Baker’s significant contributions to the community, particularly his influential role in mentoring and coaching the youth and families of Seneca Falls.

Daniele Bonafiglia Wirth of the Bonafiglia Family Foundation praised Baker for his lasting impact, highlighting his dedication and inspirational coaching style.

“He embodies what it means to be a difference maker,” Wirth said, noting the privilege of honoring such a committed individual. Baker’s involvement extended beyond coaching to running various camps, clinics, tournaments, and leagues, while also maintaining the town’s recreation and athletic facilities.

Missy Jones, Director of Recreation, expressed gratitude to the Bonafiglia Family Foundation for their support in the David Baker Gymnasium Dedication initiative. She acknowledged Baker’s instrumental role in the success of not only the basketball program but all department programs and services.

Baker himself, humbled by the recognition, attributed his achievements to the families and children participating in the town’s recreation programs. The ceremony was attended by many community members, celebrating Baker’s remarkable influence and the positive change he has fostered.
