Douglas Tanner, 54, of Sterling, has been arrested and charged with DWI and other vehicle and traffic violations following a motorcycle accident in the Town of Ira. The incident, which occurred on the evening of November 3 led to non-life-threatening injuries for a female passenger.
Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the accident at approximately 9:27 p.m. near 12124 Route 176. Upon arrival, they found that Tanner’s motorcycle had veered off the roadway into a ditch.
A female passenger accompanying Tanner was injured in the crash and subsequently transported by CIMVAC ambulance to Upstate Hospital. Tanner, who did not sustain injuries, was found to be driving while intoxicated and was taken into custody.
Following the incident, Tanner was processed and released.
