Five Star Bank, in collaboration with the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), has launched a groundbreaking initiative to improve health care accessibility in rural areas of upstate New York.
This partnership aims to address the health care needs of communities in Steuben and Seneca counties by installing Higi health stations at select Five Star Bank branches. These stations will enable residents to measure and monitor vital health indicators like blood pressure and weight.
The initiative, currently in its pilot phase, plans to incorporate live, on-demand telehealth appointments with URMC providers.
The selection of branches for this program was strategic, targeting communities with limited local health care options and where many residents do not have easy access to internet at home. This innovative approach seeks to bridge the gap in health care access for these underserved areas.
