The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Pennsylvania man following a domestic disturbance at a hotel in Fair Haven.
The incident occurred on the night of November 4, when sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene around 11:09 p.m. They discovered a female victim with injuries from an alleged physical altercation.
Sheriff Brian Schenck indicated that the victim had been pushed against a wall, causing a mirror to break and inflict a small laceration. Further assault included being struck in the face and restrained on the ground. Emergency medical personnel treated the victim at the hotel for her injuries.
Brian M. Houchins, 46, from Philadelphia, was charged with reckless endangering and menacing.
Following the investigation, Houchins was processed at the county’s Public Safety Building. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Sterling Court at a future date.
