Mets’ David Peterson expected to miss 6-7 months after hip surgery

The New York Mets announced on Wednesday that left-handed pitcher David Peterson had surgery to repair the labrum in his left hip.

The team said the typical recovery time for this injury is six to seven months, meaning he will miss the start of the 2024 season.

Peterson, 28, posted a 5.03 ERA over 27 appearances (21 starts) in 2023. He set a career-high in innings pitched with 111.

The Mets will certainly be searching for starting pitching this offseason.
