The Yates County Highway Department has notified the public that Himrod Road (County Route 1) in the Town of Milo will be inaccessible at the railroad crossing in Himrod, effective immediately until November 14.
This closure, east of the overpass near Harrison Road, is necessary for repairs to the crossing.
Motorists are advised that during the closure, the section of Himrod Road will be blocked between house numbers 3577 and 3580.
The Highway Department has clarified that while through traffic is suspended, access to house number 3577 is still available from the north, and house number 3580 can be accessed from the south.
For the duration of the closure, traffic detours have been established using Norris and Hatmaker roads.
The county urges drivers to adhere to the detour signs and plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays. The Highway Department thanks residents and commuters for their patience and cooperation during this essential maintenance work.
