The Buffalo Sabres announced Monday morning that forward Matthew Savoie has been recalled from his conditioning stint with the AHL’s Rochester Americans.

In a corresponding move, forward Brandon Biro was placed on the injured reserve.

Savoie, 19, was drafted ninth overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.

The top prospect, who missed the start of this season with a shoulder injury, appeared in six games with the Amerks, tallying five points (2 goals, 3 assists).

Head coach Don Granato told reporters Monday afternoon that Savoie will not play in Tuesday’s game at Carolina.
