Victim escapes domestic incident to call for help in Wayne County: Ontario man arrested for unlawful imprisonment

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a 55-year-old man from the Town of Ontario after a domestic dispute.

Wayne M. Rupp III, of Cortland Drive, was taken into custody after he allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with a female family member during an argument in his home on November 4, 2023.

According to the authorities, Rupp prevented the woman from leaving the residence by grabbing and ultimately tearing her shirt as she attempted to exit. The victim managed to escape the situation and sought assistance from a neighboring resident. Following the incident, Rupp faces charges of second-degree harassment, unlawful imprisonment, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Rupp was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where he will undergo a CAP arraignment with a presiding judge. He is expected to appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date to respond to the allegations.
