Pedestrian airlifted with serious injuries after being struck by vehicle in Sennett on Rt. 34

A pedestrian was severely injured early Friday morning in a collision involving a vehicle in the Town of Sennett, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck. The accident occurred around 6:45 a.m. on North Street Road (State Route 34) near Potter Road.


The individual, who was in the northbound lane, was hit by a northbound vehicle and subsequently airlifted to Upstate University Hospital, where they are listed in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident was unharmed. The response to the accident included multiple agencies, with the Sennett Fire Department, AMR ambulance service, LifeNet air ambulance, Auburn Police Department, New York State Department of Transportation, and Cayuga County 911 all providing assistance at the scene.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved as the investigation continues. The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and contact Detective David Harkness at 315-294-8143.
