Syracuse football returned home for the first time in over a month, and the losing continued as the Orange dropped their fifth consecutive game with a 17-10 loss to Boston College on Friday night.
The Orange, who were without starting quarterback Garrett Shrader due to injury, led 7-3 after the first quarter but were outscored 14-3 over the final three as backup Carlos Del Rio-Wilson and the offense were held to 246 yards.
Turnovers, penalties, and punts led to the offensive struggles. Del Rio-Wilson threw four interceptions and completed just 7-of-17 passes for 37 yards.
SU’s run game had success as LeQuint Allen ran for a career-high 142 yards on 18 carries, and Del Rio-Wilson ran 12 times for 67 yards, including a 27-yard score.
Syracuse will try to get back in the win column next Saturday at 3:30 p.m. when they face Pittsburgh at Yankee Stadium.
