Sabres win streak snapped with ugly home loss to Flyers

The Buffalo Sabres had a chance to extend their win streak to a season-high three games on Friday night at KeyBank Center, but they failed to do so as they fell 5-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers in an ugly game, dropping their season record to 5-6-0.

Buffalo trailed 3-0 after the first period and 4-0 after 40 minutes before Henri Jokiharju netted his first goal of the season to put the Sabres on the board early in the third. However, that was the only shot that would get past Flyers’ goaltender Samuel Ersson.

Neither team capitalized on the man advantage as Buffalo went 0-for-3 and Philadelphia finished 0-for-4.

Box Score

The Sabres will try to get back in the win column Saturday when they head to Toronto to face the Maple Leafs at 7 p.m.
