Erin Tolefree becomes CEO of Baldwin Richardson Foods

Baldwin Richardson Foods, a leading manufacturer of food and beverage ingredients based in Macedon, has announced Erin Tolefree as its new CEO. Tolefree, who boasts an impressive 23-year tenure with the company, will also retain her role as president. The company stands as one of the most prominent African American family-owned entities in the food sector.

Eric Johnson, the company’s board chair and former CEO, praised Tolefree’s leadership. He noted that under her direction, the company has attracted several globally renowned brands to its customer roster. He stated, “Erin represents the third generation of entrepreneurial leadership in our family. Her elevation to CEO further cements our vision of remaining a privately-owned family business.” Tolefree’s illustrious journey with Baldwin Richardson Foods began in 2001, seeing her through significant milestones, including the acquisition of the Industrial Products Division of J.M. Smucker Company in 2005, and more recently, Aseptic Solutions USA Ventures in 2023.

Beyond her professional achievements, Tolefree is known for her extensive community involvement. Her board service includes roles at ESL Federal Credit Union, ROC2025, Rochester Regional Health, and the Rochester Advisory Board for Excellus BCBS. Moreover, she is an active member of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council and a proud supporter of the local Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester. Her remarkable contributions to business were recently acknowledged by the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation.
