Route 96 between Ithaca and Trumansburg will remain closed: How much longer?

  • Staff Report

Route 96, a critical thoroughfare between Ithaca and Trumansburg, remains closed due to culvert work near Perry City Road.

Originally scheduled for approximately 30 days, the project’s completion date has faced subsequent delays. Signage recently updated at the project site indicates the road will be shut down until November 10th, pushing the closure nearly a month past the initial plan.

Travelers heading from Trumansburg to Ithaca are to utilize Route 227, Route 228, and Route 79, and vice versa for those traveling in the opposite direction.

Additionally, as a part of the project, Perry City Road will see closures spanning from Jacksonville Road to Van Dorn Corners Road.
