Deputies: Corning woman arrested on felony charges after social services investigation

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Corning woman following a social services investigation.

According to a news release, Sonja Covell, 56, of Corning was arrested for falsifying business records, as a felony, as well as petit larceny after she intentionally provided false information to DSS.

As result, she received benefits that were not entitled.

She was arraigned on the charges and will appear in local court at a later date.
