The Buffalo Bills needed a good, clean game in addition to a win, and they came out with all three on Thursday night. Despite a near last-second heroic heave from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Bills head into the mini-bye week with a 24-18 victory.

Josh Allen had an excellent and efficient game, going 31-for-40 passing on 324 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Allen distributed the ball, with Khalil Shakir taking top receiver honors with six receptions and 92 yards. Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid found the endzone for the first time in his career, hauling in five catches and 65 yards.

The defense also had a huge game, pressuring Baker Mayfield of the Buccaneers all night. Taron Johnson, AJ Epenesa, and Ed Oliver each recorded a sack. The secondary shouldn’t be forgotten. Despite no interceptions, they held Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to under 60 yards each.

Buffalo, who improved to 5-3, next plays on Sunday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9.
