A major house fire erupted Tuesday morning on Lakeside Road, leading to a multi-agency firefighting effort that drew crews from five towns. Thankfully the family residing in the home were able to safely evacuate without any reported injuries.
The aftermath of the fire has rendered the home uninhabitable, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into its cause. As a result of the incident, a section of Lakeside Road, spanning from Berg Road to Rt. 104, was closed Tuesday morning.
In response to the tragic event, Makaila Mitchell has launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist the affected families, stating, “We are raising money for my brother’s family and his roommate Chris’s family, both of whom have lost everything to this devastating fire. Any assistance, whether monetary or material, is greatly appreciated. Heartfelt thanks to all who have extended their support thus far.”
