For twelve years, community members, family and friends from Penn Yan, Keuka Lake and across the Finger Lakes region have come together on Thanksgiving morning to take part in a tradition of supporting one of the area’s greatest treasures, St. Michael School.

This tradition of support is the School’s annual 5K Turkey Trot Race and Kids Fun Run – truly an event and race for all ages!

The 5K race course is USAT&F certified and professionally timed by Falcon Race Timing.  The course follows flat terrain through town for 3.1 miles. Rain or shine, registration begins at St. Michael School with race start at 8:30 a.m.

The Kids Fun Run immediately follows the 5K with an approximate start time of 9:30 a.m. Awards will be presented to the top overall female and male, top age group, and all Kids Fun Run finishers.  Registration cost is $25 for the 5K and $5 for the Kids Fun Run.

The first 100 participants registered will receive a free race T-shirt. Post-race food and beverages will be provided.

This annual event is one of St. Michael School’s most profitable fundraisers with the funds raised going back to support the School’s general operating needs.  Within the 15 schools of the Diocese of Rochester Catholic Schools, St. Michael School is one of the top performing schools in relation to raising significant funds through its own fundraising initiatives.

Thanks to the support from its community and its families, these funds play a critical role in furthering the quality of the students’ education.
