Two Bath residents found themselves in custody Wednesday evening after local police discovered methamphetamine at a Lackawanna Street residence.
The Bath Village Police Department reported the arrest of Shannon Brockway, 54, and Dominic Trentini, 55, following a call which originally alerted officers to a suspiciously behaving woman near Trentini’s home. Upon officers’ arrival, an unrelated glimpse of meth in plain sight led to the duo’s arrest.
The initial 7:30 p.m. call on Oct. 11 described a woman wearing only one shoe leaving Trentini’s property. The woman claimed to have been ousted following a disagreement. When officers approached Trentini’s house for further inquiry, they noticed Brockway hastily moving towards a bathroom.
After gaining entry and spotting the drugs, police secured a search warrant, resulting in the discovery of an even larger meth stash. Brockway, already on parole for previous drug charges, now faces third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and remains in Steuben County Jail. Meanwhile, Trentini, charged with seventh-degree possession, received an appearance ticket for a future court session.
