After lengthy discussions, the Geneva City Council solidified regulations for short-term rentals in a 6-3 vote Wednesday evening.
This move comes despite the revelation by the city’s planner that over 100 known operators exist within the city even though they weren’t previously recognized as a permitted use.
The new ordinance mandates short-term rental providers to acquire special-use permits and other necessary licenses to function within the city.
Operators will have 60 days from when the law takes effect in March to adhere.
