The third annual Finger Lakes Health Foundation’s 108 Holes for Hearts golf challenge culminated successfully, amassing over $17,000 earmarked for cardiology services, state-of-the-art equipment, and patient financial assistance under UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health.

Spanning from June 17 to September 17, this unique event permitted golf enthusiasts to play at desired venues, targeting the completion of 108 holes within the 12-week timeframe. Participants, aided by the Foundation, each garnered sponsorships of at least $1,000.

The initiative attracted 15 golfers from various regions including Albany, CNY, and the Finger Lakes, collectively playing a remarkable 5,022 holes. With the unwavering support of over 90 sponsors, the duo Dave and Mickie Christiansen stood out by raising more than $6,100 beyond the stipulated fundraising goal, earning them a $500 gift certificate from Wegmans of Geneva. UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health is devoted to delivering premier cardiology care round-the-clock, and part of the funds raised will be directed toward acquiring new cardiovascular ultrasound systems for Geneva General and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospitals. This advanced equipment aims to amplify diagnostic precision and expedite patient access to crucial cardiac imaging.
