Here’s a look at where things stand as of this past week’s foliage report.

The state’s tourism website, I LOVE NY, has also been releasing weekly fall foliage report of the season, indicating the onset of the vibrant seasonal changes in New York.

According to the predictions by SmokyMountains.com, regions like Eastern Adirondacks and Lake George are expected to witness peak colors between Sept. 25 and Oct. 2.

The Adirondacks, Capital Region, Allegheny Mountains in Western New York, most of Central New York, and the Rochester area will follow suit between Oct. 2 and Oct. 9.

Other areas including the Finger Lakes, Buffalo area, Southern Tier, Catskills, and Hudson Valley are set to peak between Oct. 9 and Oct. 16. By Oct. 23, even the last-to-peak areas like New York City and Long Island are projected to be past their prime.

These predictions largely align with those of the Farmer’s Almanac, estimating the peak fall foliage in the Empire State between Sept. 28 and Oct. 28.
