The Weedsport Central School District has a new superintendent.
The district named Gregory Stone as its next leader. He currently serves as ELA and Elementary Education Director at the North Syracuse Central School District.
He’s been there since 2019.
“We believe Greg possesses the experience, dedication, and innovative vision needed to lead our school district into the future; we are super excited to welcome him as our next Superintendent” Chad Mitchell, President of the Weedsport Board of Education said in a prepared statement. “His focus on students and his collaborative approach will empower our educators and staff to provide the best possible education for our students. Greg’s vision and leadership will be a significant asset to Weedsport’s school community and the community at large.”
Stone said he was ‘honored’ to be the district’s next superintendent.
“I am both honored and excited to have been chosen as the next superintendent. The rigorous hiring process has underscored the importance of this role, and I am deeply appreciative of the trust placed in me. My unwavering commitment and focus will be on our students and their learning journey, ensuring they have the best educational experience possible,” he said. “I am wholeheartedly committed to engaging with our outstanding community, fostering collaboration with parents, educators, staff, students, and residents to enhance the school district’s robust academic standards and cherished traditions” expressed Stone. “Together, we will foster an environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.”
