Macedon police officer injured aprehending shoplifter: Rochester man faces felony charges of assault, grand larceny

Macedon police reported the apprehension of Tajh Guillont, 32, of Rochester, after a reported in-progress theft at a local Walmart around 2:05 p.m. on Monday.


Guillont is alleged to have attempted to shoplift merchandise valued at $1,437.86. The arrest occurred after a pursuit ending at the Town of Macedon Public Safety Building, where Guillont resisted, engaging in a physical altercation with the officers.

One officer sustained minor injuries during the confrontation.

Guillont is facing multiple charges including attempted Grand Larceny, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, and Assault, along with two counts of Petit Larceny related to previous incidents.

Additionally, Guillont had ten outstanding warrants from Georgia for Identity Fraud & Financial Transaction Card Theft. After receiving medical attention for a foot/ankle injury, Guillont was detained at Wayne County Jail, pending his Macedon Court appearance and potential extradition to Georgia. The injured officer received treatment for a neck strain and has been released.
