Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Washington Commanders, the NFL announced Wednesday.
Bernard, making just his fourth career start, filled up the stat sheet with a team-high seven tackles (five solo), two sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery.
The 24-year-old became the first NFL player with two sacks, one interception, and one fumble recovery in the same game since Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher in 2007.
Bernard is also the first Bills player to win this award since Ed Oliver last Thanksgiving.
