UR Medicine Thompson Health is hosting a job fair on Tuesday, Oct. 10, for individuals who enjoy working in long-term care.
The event will be held at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, which is seeking LPNs, RNs, and experienced certified nursing assistants (CNAs). Located adjacent to Thompson Hospital at 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua, the Continuing Care Center is a 178-bed skilled-nursing facility with services for those who need 24-hour care, dementia care services, and post-hospital services to help individuals requiring rehabilitation or restoration recover from illness, surgery and hospital stays.
Job seekers will meet with hiring managers in the lobby of the facility during two sessions: 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Thompson Health was named to the 2023 “Top 150 Places to Work in Healthcare” list published by Becker’s Hospital Review and the Continuing Care Center currently has a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Available immediately upon employment, tuition assistance – for staff members pursuing further education – is up to $6,000 per year for those employed full-time and up to $3,000 per year for those working part-time. There are additional initiatives to help associates advance in their careers, including a CNA-to-LPN program that covers tuition.
