Big second half propels Syracuse past Army (full coverage)

Syracuse football scored 26 second-half points to secure a 29-16 victory over Army on Saturday afternoon in the JMA Wireless Dome. 

With the win, the Orange improved to 4-0 for the second straight season. 

Garrett Shrader completed 21-of-26 passes for 245 yards with one touchdown and one interception while running for 50 yards and a score. 


LeQuint Allen carried the ball 20 times for 104 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown. 

Damien Alford caught nine passes for 135 yards, while Umari Hatcher hauled in a touchdown.

The Orange defense forced two turnovers, including interceptions by Justin Barron and Jaeden Gould. Syracuse held Army to 125 rushing yards and 145 yards in the air, marking the second time this season the Orange have held an opponent under 300 total yards.
