Police in Ithaca are currently investigating a burglary reported to have occurred on the 100 block of Williams Street around 4:40 a.m. on September 20.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers learned that an unknown female suspect had caused damage to a window of the front door before making an unauthorized entry into the residence.

The suspect is said to have gathered various items from the house and relocated them outside before residents confronted her, after which she fled the scene before police could arrive. The suspect is described as a 5’8” heavy-set black female who was seen wearing a white crop top, grey sweatpants featuring a Cornell logo, a red scarf around her hair, and a black face mask.

The Ithaca Police Department encourages anyone with pertinent information to come forward, and assures those wishing to remain anonymous that they can do so. The investigation is ongoing as officers work to gather more details surrounding the incident.
