This week Six Eighty Cellars, renowned for its distinctive amphora-aged, low-intervention wines, unveiled its state-of-the-art tasting room situated on Cayuga Lake’s western shores at 3050 Swick Rd. Nestled within the picturesque Finger Lakes Region’s Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, the new facility promises guests panoramic views, a dive into varied wine styles, and opportunities for immersive events.

Dave Pittard, the winery’s Co-Founder, shared his enthusiasm, noting, “The new space embodies our dedication to innovation and sustainability, letting visitors fully embrace the majestic beauty of Cayuga Lake as they explore our wines.” Equipped with both indoor and sheltered outdoor seating, visitors can relish the sweeping vistas of vineyards, gardens, and the lake itself. Inside, an amphora vessel stands as a testament to the winery’s unique crafting process. Moreover, starting this year, the tasting room broadens its offerings to include signature cocktails, espresso drinks, beer, cider, and more.

For those seeking a tailored experience, Six Eighty Cellars provides a 45-minute guided tasting session, encompassing a curated selection of five wines paired with individual charcuterie boards. Wines spotlighted range from intriguing barrel-aged skin-fermented Rieslings to Terracotta-aged Chardonnays. Reservations are recommended, and guests can check operating hours and book visits through their website. In the near future, the winery plans to roll out interactive tours, giving enthusiasts a deeper dive into their pioneering vineyard methods and fusion of ancient and modern winemaking techniques.
