The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Newark man following a series of shoplifting incidents in the village of Sodus.
Terrance T. Barber, 35, of Newark has been charged with one count of third-degree burglary and two counts of petit larceny.
The accusations come from two shoplifting incidents, one at a Dollar General and another at a Family Dollar, both located in Sodus.
Barber had previously been banned from the Family Dollar, but allegedly returned to steal personal hygiene items, leading to the burglary and petit larceny charges. In the Dollar General incident, he is believed to have taken clothing, alcohol, and candles, resulting in the second petit larceny charge.
While Barber was given an appearance ticket for one of the larceny counts, he was detained to await arraignment for the other charges.
