The New York Mets (71-81) played spoiler again on Wednesday night in Miami, defeating the Marlins (79-74), 8-3, in the rubber match at LoanDepot Park.
New York smacked four home runs, two of which came from the rookie Mark Vientos. Brett Baty and Brandon Nimmo also went deep, while Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor added RBI.
Kodai Senga permitted two runs over six innings while issuing two walks and tallying three strikeouts.
The Mets will head to Philadelphia to begin a four-game series with the Phillies on Thursday at 7:10 p.m.
