Seneca Falls residents without water Tuesday afternoon after ‘major’ water main break

UPDATE: Service was restored at approximately 2:45 pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials in Seneca Falls say a major water main break will result in the temporary disruption of water service.

The alert went out to all residents and businesses on Fall Street and south of the canal.

“A major water main break on East Bayard Street will require water service to be shutdown for a period of two hours beginning at 12:30 p.m. today while repairs are made,” a message from the supervisor’s office said. “All traffic in the area of East Bayard Street & Stevenson Street should use caution while work is ongoing.”

A new alert will be issued when water service is restored. Officials apologized for the inconvenience to local residents and businesses.
