The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest of 32-year-old Jurrell Thompson from Penn Yan related to a stolen vehicle.
Authorities say he was charged with criminal possession of stolen property after deputies were dispatched to Seneca Lake State Park at approximately 7:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was determined that Thompson was in possession of a vehicle previously reported stolen from the City of Rochester.
The vehicle was then impounded. Thompson was taken into custody, processed at the Seneca County Jail, and later released with an appearance ticket.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
