Rochester man held in Wayne County after bench warrant discovered

John Ortega, a 25-year-old resident of Rochester, was taken into custody by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding bench warrant.

The warrant was issued when Ortega failed to appear in court on October 25, 2022.

Ortega was initially held by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office before being transferred to Wayne County authorities.

He is currently housed at the Wayne County Jail awaiting proceedings in CAP Court.
