The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office have given an update on a pursuit that took place during the afternoon hours on Wednesday, and concluded with a crash a little after 4 p.m.
A vehicle pursuit was initiated by deputies in Wolcott and Huron on Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies had been alerted by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office to assist in capturing Trent Goodrich, a 22-year-old Wolcott resident, who had outstanding felony warrants from multiple cases in Cayuga County.
After recognizing deputies, Goodrich fled in his vehicle, which resulted in a chase that concluded when he lost control and crashed into an orchard on Ridge Road in Huron.
Following the crash, Goodrich attempted to escape on foot but was swiftly apprehended by deputies present. He was then handed over to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Additional charges from Wayne County are pending the completion of an ongoing investigation.
