Former NFL Network reporter Jim Trotter has filed a lawsuit against the NFL for racial discrimination.

Trotter claims his contract with NFL Network was not renewed because he repeatedly spoke out about the NFL’s lack of diversity.

As part of a 53-page complaint filed in federal court, Trotter accused Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of making racist comments.

“If the Black players don’t like it here, they should go back to Africa and see how bad it is,” Pegula allegedly said in reference to player protests against racial injustice.

“If Blacks feel some kind of way, they should buy their own team and hire who they want to hire,” Jones allegedly said of complaints about racial inequality in positions of power.

Statement from Pegula:

“The statement attributed to me in Mr. Trotter’s complaint is absolutely false. I am horrified that anyone would connect me to an allegation of this kind. Racism has no place in our society and I am personally disgusted that my name is associated with the complaint.”
