Lucas Vineyards, Cayuga Lake’s inaugural winery established in 1980, is gearing up for its 23rd German Festival on September 17, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The festival, an annual highlight for the winery, will feature live performances by The Enzian Bavarian Band and Dancers.

Attendees can look forward to grape stomping, delectable grape pies, traditional German food, and various activities such as face painting, alphorn and polka lessons, as well as polka and yodeling competitions.
The vineyard will showcase its award-winning rieslings and gewürztraminer, available for purchase by the glass or bottle.
In addition, wine slushies and beer will be on offer. This family and pet-friendly event is set to take place rain or shine, with provisions for tents in case of bad weather.
Admission is priced at $10, while children aged 6 and under can enter for free. Tickets can be procured online or at the event’s entrance. For more details or inquiries, visit www.lucasvineyards.com or contact 607-532-4825.
