Just minutes after the New York Yankees picked up a 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, manager Aaron Boone told reporters that 20-year-old outfield prospect Jasson Domínguez has a torn UCL.
Domínguez, New York’s No. 2 prospect, was scratched from Sunday’s contest with what the Yankees called right elbow inflammation. However, he was sent for tests during the game that revealed the torn UCL.
Boone said surgery is on the table, and the team should know more on Monday.
Domínguez was off to a hot start offensively, hitting .258 (8-for-31) with four home runs and seven runs batted in over his first eight Major League games.
