The New York Mets (65-76) avoided a three-game sweep with a 2-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins (75-68) on Sunday afternoon at Target Field.
With the game scoreless in the top of the ninth inning, DJ Stewart smoked a go-head two-run double, and Adam Ottavino closed it out, giving the Mets the win.
Tylor Megill tossed five shutout frames, while Phil Bickford, Trevor Gott, and Brooks Raley also posted scoreless outings.
The Mets will head home to begin a seven-game homestand, starting with four against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday at 7:10 p.m.
