New Thruway rest area in Victor opens with Dunkin’, Popeyes, and convenience store

The New York State Thruway Authority unveiled the newly renovated Seneca Service Area in Victor, NY, marking the 11th location to welcome travelers amid a $450 million project aiming to revamp all 27 Thruway rest stops.

Located on I-90 westbound between exits 44 and 45, the nearly 6,000-square-foot facility boasts dining options such as Popeyes, Applegreen C-Store, and Taste NY Food and Drink Products, with a Dunkin’ drive-thru slated to launch soon.

Further amenities, set to be available later, encompass outdoor seating, a dedicated dog walking zone, a private nursing section, a digital tourism kiosk, and four high-speed EV chargers.

Concurrently, the Ontario Service Area (I-90 westbound, mile marker 376) has shut its doors for a major renovation, though its fuel services will remain operational throughout the construction phase. The entire overhaul project, managed in collaboration with Empire State Thruway Partners, leverages a public-private partnership for funding, ensuring no toll or tax dollars are spent.

With over 376 million trips covering 7.7 billion miles on the Thruway in 2022, the Thruway Authority continues to prioritize 24/7 accessibility for its service areas, offering a gamut of food, beverage, and fueling options. Comprehensive details about the ongoing redevelopment can be accessed on the Thruway Authority’s official site.
