Police arrested a 40-year-old Canandaigua man on assault charges following a stabbing on September 4.
According to a news release, Matthew Wood, 40, was charged with second-degree assault, after a physical altercation that ended with a stabbing.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to Thompson Hospital where they were treated for non life threatening injuries.
Wood fled the scene after the altercation and stabbing. He was taken into custody and ultimately released after being processed on the assault charge.
