Ovid man indicted by grand jury, accused of sexually abusing child in Seneca Falls: Held on $10,000 bail

On August 30, the Seneca Falls Police Department took George C. Stetson, 40, of Ovid into custody following a comprehensive investigation and a subsequent indictment by the Seneca County Grand Jury.

The arrest stems from an incident in 2021 where Stetson allegedly had sexual contact with a family member under the age of thirteen in the town of Seneca Falls.

Stetson was arraigned the same day and faces charges, including one felony count each of first-degree sex abuse, predatory sex assault against a child, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is currently detained at the Seneca County Correctional Facility with bail set at $10,000 cash or a $20,000 bond.

A subsequent court appearance is scheduled for Stetson to respond to the charges.
