Jamie S. Swanke, a 42-year-old resident of Geneseo in Steuben County, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 31, amid allegations of creating false records and defrauding the Department of Social Services.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, between October 4, 2020, and June 30, 2021, Swanke made two inaccurate filings which resulted in her illicitly receiving $7,995 in funds she wasn’t qualified for.
Swanke faces charges of offering a false instrument of filing in the first degree, classified as a class E felony, and grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony. After the arrest procedures, Swanke was released.
