Yankees smack four homers in series-opening win over Astros

The New York Yankees (66-69) used the long ball to help take down the Houston Astros (77-59), 6-2, in the series opener on Friday night at Minute Maid Park.

Jasson Domínguez made his Major League debut and homered in his first plate appearance, while Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and DJ LeMahieu also went deep. All four home runs were against Justin Verlander.

Austin Wells also made his big-league debut and singled in his first at-bat. Carlos Rodón navigated five innings of two-run ball to earn his second win as a Yankee.

The Yankees will hand the ball to Luis Severino on Saturday at 7:10 p.m. as they look to win the series.
