Yankees smack four homers in series-opening win over Astros

The New York Yankees (66-69) used the long ball to help take down the Houston Astros (77-59), 6-2, in the series opener on Friday night at Minute Maid Park.

Austin Wells also made his big-league debut and singled in his first at-bat. Carlos Rodón navigated five innings of two-run ball to earn his second win as a Yankee.

The Yankees will hand the ball to Luis Severino on Saturday at 7:10 p.m. as they look to win the series.
