The New York Yankees are calling up prospects Jasson Domínguez and Austin Wells, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reported Wednesday night.
The 20-year-old Domínguez (No. 2 prospect), a center fielder, and the 24-year-old Wells (No. 3 prospect), a catcher, are expected to make their Major League debuts Friday when the club begins a three-game series with the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.
Domínguez spent just one week at Triple-A, where he went 12-for-27 with a 1.124 OPS and 10 RBI over eight games. Wells hit .254/.349/.452 with five homers and 20 RBI over 33 games at Triple-A.
With Domínguez and Wells arriving, SS Anthony Volpe, IF Oswald Peraza, and OF Everson Pereira already on the big-league roster, the Yankees are going as young as they have in a long time.
