Sen. McConnell freezes up again while taking questions from reporters

Republican Mitch McConnell of Kentucky appeared to momentarily freeze during a news conference on Wednesday, just over a month after a similar incident in late July.

The latest occurrence took place following a speech he delivered to the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. When asked about his plans for reelection, McConnell paused momentarily, asking the reporter to repeat the question before briefly freezing up again. An aide had to intervene, instructing reporters to articulate their questions more loudly.

This is the second time the 81-year-old GOP leader has paused unexpectedly in public, with the previous incident happening on July 26 as he arrived for a news conference. The episodes have spurred discussions on the age and fitness of congressional representatives, prompting debates about potential term limits.
